Nothing today

No selections at the lower level. The last 3 days have shown that it is not just a good h'cap mark that win at this level. However, they will win off their current marks, so make a note of them.

I will see how the Lincoln pans out, but I am lacking results from October 2010, so I may just stick to the Cammidge for my first real advice of the season.

If you must ...

Space Station in the last at Leicester - 5.20

Well in on my ratings. Recent run. Previous form a this level.

Danger, if fit .... Merchant of Medici. Also well in, but may need the run.

Yesterday's noted runner Dazakhee .... Well for a horse drawn 1 and stays further, he should have set the pace ... a stiff one at that?? That did not happen, so he could only stay on from the rear, after being squeezed by the pace setters.
The betting was not down to me, more likely that people found he was top-rated by Timeform, as I did later. Came into as short as 6/1, but with no stable money behind it, back out to 25/1.

I am only putting these up because I have ratings. My serious selections will be in Class 3 or higher. I can wait ... can you?
Have a good day, Gerry

Wolverhampton 7.30

DAZAKHEE

Not a serious punt, but noted as follows:

3rd at Chester over 10f - OR 61 - ran better than that. C5 h'cap

Today, off 55 runs in a C6 over 8f

Tried over 12f at Southwell and faded last time. Pulled hard, but a useful pipe opener?

It will be a big price, but it has possibilities to make the frame?

Note the betting, as the stable like a flutter ... 25/1 on Betfair now

Flat 2011 ...I'm back!

Hello to anybody still around?
Since last August when my season ground to a halt I have had time to overhaul my ratings ... Well that is to say, since January I have been rewriting my all my results from last year, but I still need a few more weeks to get the full seasons results in and on my database.
The first thing I decided to do was to specialise, in order to cut down the sheer volume of races that kick in after May.
I now only rate meetings that have at least a Class 3 event or higher - good bye 98% of AW meetings.
I shall therefore be concentrating on the big handicaps, with the odd lesser race if the ratings warrant it.
Next I expanded my ratings to include placed horses, for obvious reasons.
I have also changed my calculations to get rid of anomalies that occur when dealing with complex factors.

This season's Flat seems strange starting at Catterick? So I have no selection for this meeting. More hopeful at Musselburgh tomorrow, but Doncaster will no doubt be the real test?
... and finally
Future Blogs will be brief!
Cheers, Gerry
